Your privacy
Updated October 17, 2026
Pump or Pass helps you check Nova Scotia fuel prices, forecasts and possible savings. You can use the public tools without creating an account.
When you sign in with Google
Google handles sign-in. Pump or Pass uses Firebase Authentication to identify your account. Your basic Google profile, including your name, email address and profile picture, may be available to Firebase Authentication. We do not receive your Google password or request access to your Gmail, contacts, calendar or files.
Your saved choices
If you save your choices, we store your fuel pricing zone, litres to buy, tank capacity and fuel type in your private Firebase account records. When you open a promotion, we can store which version you have seen and when, so your unread badge can follow you across devices. These records are restricted to your signed-in account.
When you use the app as a guest
Your zone, tank and fuel choices stay in memory for the current visit. Seen promotions are stored in your browser’s local storage. Clearing that storage resets your seen offers. Google sign-in may keep you signed in on the browser until you sign out.
Service providers and technical information
The app uses Google Firebase Hosting, Authentication and Cloud Firestore. Your browser connects to Google services to load the app and its data. These providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information and service logs to deliver and protect their services.
Notifications
Email and text notifications are not currently connected. Signing in does not subscribe you to alerts. We will ask you to opt in before enabling those messages.
Removing information
You can remove your saved account choices from the account panel. That action does not delete your Google account or the Firebase Authentication account. To request deletion of your Pump or Pass account or other stored account information, contact us below. Guest promotion history can be removed by clearing this site’s browser storage.
